Music Contest

Hello, this is Gina and Behin writin from Sweden. We're going to write about the swedish singer Darin.

Darin Zanyar (born June 2, 1987 in Vällingby, Stockholm Municipality, Sweden) more commonly known as Darin is a Swedish pop singer of Kurdish descent who was first runner-up in Idol 2004. Zanyar has after that gone on to become one of Sweden's best-selling singers, with numerous chart topping songs and music albums.
He began singing at an early age, citing Michael Jackson as his biggest inspiration.

In spring of 2004, Darin auditioned for a place on the first series of Idol with "God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You" by N*Sync, the four judges were very impressed and he passed through to the theatre round and then on to the semi-finals where he sang "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera and received 78% of the public vote to get through to the live finals. He was a huge success on the show taking only placing in the bottom 2 on one occasion when he sang "When I Fall In Love" by Nat King Cole on October 29, 2004. Darin took overall second place in the contest behind Daniel Lindstrom.

He has also worked with international artists such as Leona Lewis and Kat Deluna.
Darin's most known songs are "Money for nothing", "Step up" and "Breathing your love".
